So for a long time (ever since I was 5) I've had these PS1 demo disks.
I know where I got the blue one (Obviously) but I dont remember where I got the grey one, I might have got it from pizza hut as well but im not sure.
Any ways I want to dump the files off the disks because they are starting to suffer from Disk rot and I dont want this information to be lost.
I tried making an .bin from the disk but my computer keeps thinking they are music CDs with different audio tracks. I tried using IMGBurn but that gets stuck at loading the CDs. Any help would be appreciated.
Whats on them:
GREY DISK:
Disney-Pixar's Monsters, Inc.
Disney's Atlantis: The lost empire
NFL GameDay 2002
Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro
Barbie Explorer
Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider
X-Men: Mutant Academy 2
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Twisted Metal: Small Brawl
BLUE DISK:
Crash Bandicoot Warpped
Metal Gear: Solid
Gran Turismo
MediEvil
Tomb Raider 3: Adventures of Lora Croft
more info:
The grey disk is officially called "PSone Wherever Whenever Forever Demo [SCUS-94799]"
The blue disk is called "Pizza Hut Pizza-Powered Demo [SCUS-94292]"
Update: So I tried IMGBurn again and just left it, its finally doing stuff after an "Not responding" phase, im trying to save the grey disk as a .bin we will see how that goes
Update2: I managed to create a .bin for it and have it work in PSX
I'll convert the blue disk and create a topic for this then drop a link for it here
Update3: Sadly IMGBurn is giving me a read error on the blue disk
Im not sure what this means, I think it means it cant read the disk fully
any info would be helpful
Update3.5: The blue disk does work on emulation, IMGBurn just cant create a .bin from it
I think I figured out why imgburn cant read the disk, while playing metal gear solid on emulation, the textures are flickering a bugged, the underwater texture effect is completely broken and just used whatever text was last on screen, the codec is broken and uses the last frame rendered as the screen, the game almost crashed when trying to use the codec
now I dont know if this is from the emulator or if this is the disk telling me its damaged
but my fears are the disk is just too damaged to save at this point
