M2 X TOAPLAN

During a recent conference, it was announced that M2 will be porting the entire catalogue of legendary coin-op development studio Toaplan to modern hardware starting next year! While many of you will likely be looking forward to the company's more well-known titles such as Tatsujin/Truxton, Batsugun or even Zero Wing, for me it's going to be all about Flying Shark and especially Slap Fight (AKA Alcon/Power Wing), though I'm hoping the latter will also include its previously Japanese-exclusive Mega Drive conversion, which featured a brand new arrange mode along with optional reworked music by none other than Yuzo Koshiro. Whatever happens, 2020 promises to be great if you're a fan of classic shooters done right...
