Hi Guys. I thought i'll start my own Collection Thread here now , having recently aquired 47x Playstation 2 Promo Disc's for a mere 135€

Actually that's also my First "Rare" Set of PS2 Games.

The Story to these is , that according to the Seller these Disc's came from a Well Known German Games Magazine and were given to Journalists for Reviewing Purposes.

As far as my guess goes , they are from OPS2M Germany. But it could also have Originated from PC-Games Magazine or Computer Bild Magazine.

The Package arrived today , and everything is Well. The State of the Discs is Great too , some have only slight Fine Scratches but most are Spotless :)

Now , while quickly going through this pile i've noticed this Disk. This might be a quite "Rare" Failprint. Have never seen a Disk with a Weird Error like that :D

Also some of these are Fingerprinted/Watermarked (especially the EA/NAMCO Stuff) so i Censored it :)

Here's a Comparison to the Same "Star Wars Jedi Starfighter" Promo-Disc from another Collector (his doesnt have a Watermark)


Update 05.05.21 :

Tested every Disc , and every Disc works without a Problem. I also noticed that there are no Discs above Build Year 2002 judging by Copyright - the Oldest i have in there is one from 1999/2000 - so i assume this has to be a Set from a Former Journalist (for the Year 2002) with some Older Promo Discs added to it.

Quite Possibly OPS2M Magazine - because that would explain the Watermarks on EA and NAMCO Discs but i can only guess.

Only thing left is to sort them after Developer and then maybe try to Dump a Random Disc. Maybe the Starfighter Disc is interesting because it has a Different Serial compared to the Non-Text-Bug One...

Success! Rebuilt the ISO and my Settings worked! The Debug Menu is Openable with R1+R2 right before going in-game.

So the Myth that there are Debug Versions on Regular Promo Discs is True lol!

Will definetively do more Testing with this Debug Menu and then report back :)

Opening the Debug Menu on this Build is a bit different - as it only works when you Press R1+R2 at the exact Moment before the Game Starts - otherwise it just skips it lol.

Hi i made some screens comparing the Build 102 with the SLES-50798 Final Disc - they are identical , however the NTSC and UK PAL have different Dates to these Discs. Seems like even some Retail Versions of FIfa 2002 Worldcup have a Debugger some dont :D

So about the Ratchet and Clank Promo Disc - this is one of those Discs that came in a Official Sony Blue Sleeve (says N2P1A on the Jewel Case) (couldnt find any similar Coloured Dark Blue CD Cases so i assume theyre from Sony)

The SYSTEM.CNF File defines this Build as PAL v.1.00 but the odd thing is , the ISO is 4GB Big , but when opened only displays System.CNF , ELF File , IO Plugin and nothing else :D

I actually do not understand why it would say "Device : 0x00 (Empty Sector!)" as the Disc is Condition-Wise far from Scratched and any other Disc ripped fine too :unsure:

Does somebody here know if the Retail and other SCEE Discs exhibit this feature too?
Maybe theres something i missed to Check while ripping dunno i only recently got into Dumping Discs by getting these Discs :)

About your question to upload it , yeah i could theorethically post this Disc to Archive etc. - but i would have to know first if i ripped it correctly , and why the Disc's Folders and Data do not Display correctly.. I should try Log Comparing the Jak and Daxter Promo Disc too , if it has the same "Empty Sector weirdness" within the ISO Images

Yeah this is definitively SCEE Proprietary Disc Copy-Protection there :) I've checked the Image with IsoBuster and when Looking at the RAW Hex Data it looks like this from LBA 0 to LBA 16 :


If someone can do something with this , or help me with getting the Disc to Display it's Full Content for Datamining - that would be great! :D

The file archives of Ratchet and Clank games, with the exception of R&C2 retail as well as most prototypes, are usually hidden by default.

Here is the Newest Addition to my Collection i paid 50€ for it :) It is also the First Developer Preview that i have in my Collection. Also made a New Friend through that - she's Actively Searching for Rockstar Dev Kit's and maybe she going to Register here :)

Seems like theres no Info about this "Preview" but what i could find out is :​

There is a Scratch or Deep Scratch on the Disk , but it looks like it is Outside the Data Area im not sure. I hope my Drive can read it :)
