I wanted to investigate about Dark Angel : Vampire Apocalypse on Dreamcast.

Some people gave me their testimonies about the cancellation of this game as well as Armada 2.

The testimony is poignant and allows to understand the reasons of the cancellation of these 2 titles on Dreamcast. We realize the technical difficulties that Metro3D had during the creation of their games.

The critics didn't spare Dark Angel PS2, it's normal, its development was chaotic.

Cool. It seems that Armada 2 on dreamcast was even demoed at E3 2000.

Here's a preview for Armada 2 from IGN, its actually kind of lengthy and includes pics:

And apparently Metro3D released a game called Armada Racers (top down racing game) for Gameboy color, which was loosely related to Armada. I had no idea this game existed, let alone that it was actually commercially released until just now perusing old IGN

There was also a preview of Dark Angel for dreamcast on IGN

Pictures above were (more than 10 years ago) collected from:

The times are a changing, and it's certainly not the best of times for the Dreamcast. Although there are phenomenal titles coming in the coming months for the Dreamcast, third party support has been drying up very, very quickly. Ever since Eidos Interactive's cancellation of Soul Reaver 2, many third parties have been taking the axe to their Dreamcast projects. And one of the latest is Metro3D, the developers of Armada for the Dreamcast, as they have cancelled the sequel to Armada as well as Dark Angel.
"With SEGA's recent shift from hardware to software, it's no longer profitable for Metro3D, with all the R & D and other development costs, to continue development of our Dreamcast projects," stated Mat Kuwitzky, Director of Sales and Marketing for Metro3D. Metro3D is still planning on developing both Armada 2: Exodus and Dark Angel for the PlayStation 2.

The fate of Armada 2 and Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse is precarious at best.
GameSpot has learned that Metro 3D plans to cancel both of its upcoming Dreamcast games, Armada 2 and Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse. According to Mark Jordan, vice president of development at Metro 3D, the company does not see a viable market for either game following Sega's exit from the hardware market and that might lead to the eventual cancellation of those games.

Armada 2 was developed to take advantage of the SegaNet network service and was set to feature online multiplayer gameplay. The Xbox version of the game is currently the only version in development and Metro 3D hopes to include online support in that game. Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse is currently in development for the Sony PlayStation2, along with another spin-off game on that console. The Dark Angel franchise could also appear on the Xbox. GameSpot will have further details as they are available.

With all these pictures and demonstration videos, I wonder if there might be a GD-R out there for either one of these somewhere.

I know from reading an interview with Mark Jordan previously, that he had left Metro3D, but then made a deal with Metro3D awhile later to acquire the Armada IP and any materials related to Armada to help facilitate his creation of Armada Online. From that old interview, I remember Mark saying they did not find very much on Metro3D's systems when they were doing the scavenging work, so it seems doubtful that Mark would have any DC builds of Armada 2, despite being one of the main people behind it while at Metro3D.
