I have no idea. Was it for sale? Seems somehow related to a set of poker cards? Or something given to shops to promote the game? But there's no hole for hanger thread. I've seen a similar item for Konami's Japanese Track and Field (Famicom), so it's not only for first party items, and also for manga and anime like Gundam.

Thick cardboard, 5.5in / 14cm diameter.

Number looks like a phone number with Tokyo area code.

there are many of these in japan, not even related to games
they all have a phone number, a hand sign, a japanese character, and a poker card on them. it's quite the mystery to me.

any ideas?? they must all have a similar purpose, seeing how they depict completely different things, like mangas, animes, games, tv series etc.

So they are, in fact, a kind of pog. What would you have to use for a slammer to reliably flip those giants - a manhole cover?

you learn something new every day! Literally have never heard of these or seen a photo before

yeah it looks incredibly hard to flip any of those cards, whether the small round ones or the small square ones. Can't imagine how impossible with oversized round ones. I've seen 20cm ones!!

This Japanese guy tried 300 times before flipping a single card.
