I spoke to the guy in charge of production, he is actually in that world, and intends the initial run to be based on the questionnaire plus X, so if you're interested please fill that out. The external will come in a 3d-printed shell.

Forgot to update but the pre-orders have been open awhile for a September build/release. The bare PCB for the FZ-1 internal is $249 while the external unit using the X-Port is $349 but includes an enclosure and custom cable.
